The finalists in New Zealand’s premier retail awards programme – Retail NZ Awards 2025 – have been revealed.
Retail NZ is excited to bring back the revamped Retail NZ Awards, showcasing the best of retail in New Zealand.
“The calibre of the Award finalists demonstrates the talent and innovation of our retail sector. There is amazing work going on across Aotearoa, and we’re proud to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of these individuals and businesses,” Retail NZ Chief Executive Carolyn Young says.
“It is really pleasing to see such a wide range of finalists, representing all types of retailers from large well-established national operators through to niche owner-operated stores, from bricks and mortar stores to online shops. Our finalists are operating in almost every community in New Zealand, reflecting the importance of retail to our economy.
“We thank all those who took the time to enter.”
Many of the categories were closely contested, leaving judges with tough decisions to make.
Award winners will be announced at a black-tie Awards Dinner on Thursday 28 August, at the Grand Millennium in Auckland.
There are six awards recognising business excellence. The winner of the Lifetime Contribution Award for an outstanding retailer whose career has profoundly shaped and advanced the retail sector will also be announced on the night.
“We all know that times have been tough in retail but there is still plenty to celebrate across the industry so we’re taking the opportunity to recognise the great work of our best retailers across Aotearoa,” Ms Young says.
