Retail NZ represents the retail sector in the media. Check out our latest appearances in the news below!

Retail NZ is the voice of New Zealand retail businesses. As a result, our advocacy work is regularly featured in the news. Over the last year Retail NZ appeared in the media more than 1000 times, speaking up for retail business owners. So if you own or manage a retail operation, an ecommerce store, a pop-up shop, an Instagram Shop, or anything retail-related, we are here for you!

What retail issues does Retail NZ discuss in New Zealand’s news?
  • COVID-19: We are lobbying Government for urgent clarification on lockdown rules.
  • Urban planning: Retail NZ plays a lead role in the business coalition Progress Wellington, to make Let’s Get Wellington Moving a productive project for the community.
  • Employment law changes: We speak on proposed law changes. For example, “Fair Pay”, additional leave for parent-teacher interviews, and increases in minimum wage.
  • Instore violence and antisocial behaviour: The retail industry is suffering from rising crime rates, and we are shedding light on the situation.
  • And more.
