Retail NZ is proud to announce the return of the Retail NZ Awards for 2026! 

This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than last year, with additional categories, all of which are open to any physical or online retailer. 

“We’re delighted to announce a total of 10 categories open for nominations, including the new Young Retailer of the Year Award, which is open to individuals aged 25 years and under who are making a meaningful impact in retail,” Retail NZ Chief Executive, Carolyn Young, says. 

“This year we’re also getting the public involved, with a People’s Choice Award. Anyone can nominate their favourite store – whether it be a physical shop where you can’t beat their personal touch, or that online outlet that you can’t help but go back to again and again,” Ms Young says. “Nominations for all awards categories close on May 17th, with the public able to vote for their preferred winner when we reveal the finalists later that month.”  

Some of other categories returning for another year include the Technology Innovation Award, Sustainability Leadership Award, and the coveted Lifetime Contribution Award. 

“Whether you’re a local boutique hero or national powerhouse, this is the chance for New Zealand retailers to shine,” Ms Young says. 

All the Retail NZ Awards 2026 finalists and winners will be celebrated at a glittering night of retail excellence on Thursday 3 September, at the Hilton Hotel on Auckland’s Princes Wharf.  

“Nominations are free for everyone to enter and are open now, so make sure your store or retail superstar is in it to win it!”
